Got tired of waitin and bought a korean dvd. Plays fine but not anamorphic . I would be willing to wait longer for R1 if they do it right the first time with restored italian COMPLETE version.

I believe it is on the way. I met MGM guy John Kirk at a screening last year when he was promoting the GBU cinema release and asked him about DYS. He said it was in the works, so hopefully we will have a nice new transfer of the full length version.

I'd really like to see this on DVD. (Edit: I'd like to see it on Blu-ray Disc now.)

I really hope so. I haven't seen this and don't know much about it aside from the odd plot synopses one runs into here and there. I've already purchased copies of everything I can by Leone since being introduced to his work with "Once Upon a Time in the West" this past spring and I hunger for something new. Oh, first post by the way. Hi.

Welcome Thosefalsenotes,

I too hope that we get this DVD soon. I seem to remember not that long ago we were contacted by, a John Kirk ? seems to ring a bell, from MGM who was asking which title would be prefered "Duck You Sucker" "Fistfull of Dynomite" or "Once Upon a Time the Revolution".

Last week there was an article in the Wall Street Journal about MGM and how they aggressivelly work their library of old films for revenues from tv and dvd releases, so I think there is more than hope that we will see this film released.

Actually i was thinking. All this bidding war between Sony & Warner for MGMs archives will put delayers on any future releases.  Until who ever gets there new plaything grounded???

Every DVD store real & internet ive come across is doing offers on standard MGM titles (some special editions). The old owners must be getting his last fast money out of it 'before the boat sinks' so to speak.

You can pick up The standard Dollars movies on both side of the atlantic stupidly cheap at the moment.
Same goes for Fistful of Dynamite in the UK. 5 quid tops

I sometimes wonder, if the powers to be i.e. "the hands in charge of DVD release's" are taking us for a ride! I buy this version....and lo and behold.....here's another version......and hang on.....here's the version shown in Japan or Germany with the extra non-european stuff that was censored because POPE PAUL THE 109th didn't approve....or the original version shot in ITALY but with extra footage found in a bin in  that was once used by ORSEN WELLES! Jesus, just to buy a movie as it was shot by the director woud be a thrill! Huh Huh Huh

according to a very reliable source...
The head of sony's retoration division does not want to release films over ten years old.

That kinda places Duck you sucker in a disadvantage.

My advice...get a region free dvd player, or just stick it to the man and buy a bootleg.
