just saw on TCM The Charge at Feather River (1953) 6.5/10 Directed by Gordon Douglas.
Guy Madison stars as a former soldier, asked by his old commander to lead a group of soldiers (mostly a ragtag group culled from the guardhouse for various infractions) on a raid on a Cheyenne village to rescue two sisters that were kidnapped several years earlier.

This was one of the early Warnercolor films shot in 3D, so you will see some interesting effects, such as arrows and lances flying right at the camera. This film is also notable for being the source of the name "Wilhelm Scream," after a character in the film named Private Wilhelm. (Though the actual scream was recorded originally and first heard on the 1951 film Distant Drums).
A young Vera Miles plays the younger sister, and gives a good performance in a part with little dialogue.
One of the final shots and a line uttered therein may remind some of you of a very similar shot in The Searchers...  Wink

The title of this film makes absolutely no sense. The only Western I have ever seen with a title as ridiculous is The Stranger Wore a Gun, ( another 3D film that has stuff flying at the camera Wink)

There are three types of people in the world, my friend: those who can add, and those who can't.
