Personally I think The Eiger Sanction and Play Misty For Me were two of his greatest films,
but thats just me...

Kelly's Heroes is one of the best.  Sutherland should have had more directorial leadership.  He botched it.
Josey Wales is one of the best westerns.  Hollywood had to wait quite a while to be able to come up with something that would equal it.

Hi Angel Eyes,
I agree with you.  I like Eiger Sanction too.  Play Misty For Me was a shocker.  Hollywood did not want to film Fatal Attraction because of Misty's lingering effects on people's minds.

High Plains Drifter or Pale Rider I'd say.

Dirty Harry, Alcatraz, Kelly Heroes (not much of a "Eastwood" movie, though). The Unforgiven: most overrated.

I think Unforgiven, Mystic River and The Bridges Of Madison County have to be ranked in the "top 20 movies of all times"...

Josey Wales
Dirty Harry
Misty
Unforgiven
Million Dollar Baby

Just face it, the guy's pretty damn good.  From his track record, memorable lines, etc., it's pretty obvious he had more than an actor's hand the the spaghetti westerns.

Kelly's Heroes was great because it's my three favorite movies, War Western and Comedy wiht Donald Sutherland.

Outlaw Josey Wales. It was based on a book by one the best authors of all time, Forrest Carter. Read his book on Geronimo, (one of my favourite war heroes) called "Watch for me on the Mountain" It's one of those books that really touch you and you'll never forget it or the history of Native Americans. Supposedly the film rights have been bought, by whom I don't know. A friend of mine was trying to buy them. I hope whomever does, does a good job.

I have forgotten to include Coogan's Bluff. And is Joe Kidd really that bad?

About Coogan's Bluff. Being a Texan, the thing that I love about that movie  is that they always assume he's from Texas not Arizona.

Eastwood is my favorite actor, so the list is a bit long of my favorites. Some that haven't been mentioned (unless I missed them) are The Beguiled, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Bronco Billy and Honkytonk Man. I'd say The Bridges of Madison County is one of his overall best performances. If I looked at Eastwood's movies over the past decade, I'd say Bridges was the best film of that bunch.
