Looking at the 1966 view of the river battle and the 2006 view....where did all the trees come from...surely they would have always been there and would'nt just grow once filming had finished. They weren't there before filming and Leone had them removed did he? then they regrew......

I always wonder that too! I'm pleased I'm not the only one, It's something that I always notice when looking at location comparisons.

The other thing you notice in some of the then and now location shots is how green everything looks now.  I've asked about it before of some local residents (Spaniards ex pat Brits) that  post, and I guess its all about what season you take the pictures in, also they said there is a season where there is a lot of flies too, which you notice in the film. ;-) So they must both coincide.

Anniversary not until late December  Tongue
29 December, according to the IMDb. Frayling says it didn't open in the U.S. until Jan of '68. Anybody know for sure?

(P.S. I'm talking about GBU, not BBC).

I was thinking it was released in the US around Christmas time '67. Wikipedia says December '67. I'm not for sure though.
