well i just added the two TRINITY films to the list having finished watching both now.

i loved the first one as u can see from the rating i gave it.

the second was a complete disappointment. it is great for the first 20 minutes then it loses its way.

oh well...

tonight ill watch my cut BOOT HILL that came with the TRINITY films. ill see how that goes.

I got both Trinitys on a 2 on 1 disc -both pan and scan and look like they've been transfered from a knackered  video. The sound quality on the 2nd movie is atrocious with a high pitched whirling sound which gets louder as the film progresses-but i did only pay about £3 for this-will have to get a decent print of both in widescreen!
Have you seen any of the Hill & Spencer films in a more modern setting?Watch Out We're Mad and Crimebusters are hilarious!

no i have not. i will check them out though. i have seen them at xploited cinema.

as for the second TRINITY film yeah we probably have the same transfer it was awful. and it did not help the rating either(though i tried to look past it).

but i have seen much worse. for example my BEYOND THE LAW and DEATH RIDES A HORSE dvd are the most awful transfers that have ever been bestowed upon my collection and probably the world. u almost cant see a damn thing! and the screen is  constantly changing colors, to red to green to a blue tint then back to green.

awful awful awful!

i am gonna have to get a hold of the region two version. i have seen the screen shots and they look wonderful.

I've also got similar prints of Death Rides a Horse(luckily i've also  a decent vcr print!) and Beyond the Law on a 4 on 1 LVC dvd as part of the Great American Western Collection. This also has Grand Duel and Gods Gun.As discussed elsewhere my print of Gods Gun is double atrocious and a major reason (among other things)for my complete lack of enjoyment and the 1% rating!

Hex I can definatly recomend the R2 of Death Rides A Horse  (it feels oddly wrong to say a R2 is better then a R1). As described in my review the picture and sound quality are good. There are zero extras however, menu design is poor and there is an annoying anti-piracy trailer at the begining of the disc. If you just want the film though this is a good buy.

thanks LEONE ADMIRER. that seems very much the same as the SABATA dvds that came out recently. no extras, annoying piracy trailer, but incredible transfer.

i get the feelingMGM will release the region 1 version just after i get the region two version. but the hell with that i am not waiting.

I overlooked but have now added Day of Anger(i knew i had 80 SW's in all !) to the above list.I've only given this 70% because it's the cut version and also i don't like LVC dying at the end(sniff!).
Cheers Indio and it's thanks to Hex that i got the picture sorted out!

i bought it for 6.99 at best buy. and for a price like that i am sure the transfer is beyond awful.
That's a really good price for it! My mom bought it for my dad a few years ago for $15.

I don't have much of a SW collection, but my non-Leone DVDs are:

Death Rides a Horse/Beyond the Law 2-sided DVD
Django
Mannaja-A Man Called Blade

I'm thinking about ordering Four of the Apocalypse soon.

I'm thinking about ordering Four of the Apocalypse soon.

If I were you I'd just save up for the whole Once Upon A Time In Italy Box Set... It doesn't cost that much more(maybe the price of 3 of them seperately) and all 5 of the dvds are well worth it.

Hi Christopher
I'd think carefully before getting Four of the Apocalypse.Apart from Tomas Milian its not particularly SW in style and is nowhere near as good as the recognised classics.

As you know banjo, I was quite surprised by the fact that I liked Four of the Apocalypse. I agree its not the most spaghetti of italian westerns and it does seem to take the form of a hazy journey movie, but in my review I liked it and I would recomend it for people to check it out.  I also recomend the Once Upon A Time In Italy. As Hex said all the five films included in the box were great, even better if you like Keoma, and each film contains a stirling transfer and audio along with some interesting features. Plus it contains the excellent Companeros
