I liked a few of his films as cult-ish midnight popcorn movies "Crimes of Passion, Lair of the White Worm, Whore, come immediately to mind, lol, he was "out there" for sure, you never knew what outrageous thing was going to happen next.  Cry

I think I payed any attention to him was when all the brouhaha about The Devils started in 1971: one of the most tedious movies I ever saw with the only advantage of being less tedious than Huxley's book (not having the right age for being admitted to a theatre I read it hoping to find food for...well, thought...). Then I wanted to see The Savage Messiah because a girl kept telling me, in August 1972, that I looked like the protagonist. Was itr a compliment? i doubt, but I never found any similarity, not even distant, between him and me. So I have still the doubt she was paying me a compliment or meant it as an innuendo...who knows? Anyway, I think the only two movies I saw in a theatre were Billion Dollar Brain and Whore. This second was mediocre.  I think that I would like to rewatch Savage Messiah. Tommy is very good. The Isadora Duncan and Tchaikovski biopics are good. I don't care about the rest. But never managed to find a copy of Lisztmania.
