I would say that living in Texas for most of my life has made me quite open to his films.

Ranking them, however, is the hard part.

First, I have to exclude Once Upon a Time in America, as I have yet to see it. :(

But then, I guess it would be like this:

1. Once Upon a Time in the West
2. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
3. A Fistful of Dynamite/Duck, you Sucker
4. For a Few Dollars More
5. A Fistful of Dollars

My brother and I watched FaFDM the other night, and we both ended up agreeing that it is better than FoD. Sure, the first has the nostalgia value, but I find FDM to have the better story and presentation. Also, it seems to have an especially eerie quality to it which I find appealing.

Harmonica: And you're the one who doesn't KEEP them.

Don't you just love seeing great moments like this on DVD finally? :

For me its:
1.GBU
2.FADM
3.FOD
4.OUTITW
5.OUTIA

This last could change if I see it again.

6. DUS

maybe not living in america would help the average person to enjoy leone films more.  More people from this site are likely to be american than any other, but this is not fair representation of what culture is attracted to leone.  THis is because leone is more accesible in America, there are more americans that most nationalities and this site is in english, and not anyother site.

then again, americans could be far more cultured than i think they are.  For instance all you lot.

Don't get me wrong, the vast majority of GB is full phillistines who spend all day discussing Pop Idol, the worst thing ever to have come out of GB, except the bay city rollers

I hate signatures, so naf, but i had to put this up for a week or so to show my respect

r.i.p. joe strummer.  great man, great band

My main point is related to more how you first saw the films and in what form, since I think this may have a bearing on how they are preceived  and rated, in the US FOD, FADM, GBU, were released as Leone conceived them, OUTITW, and OUTIA, were cut down butchered versions that made no sence. DUS I've never seen in a theater or very recently at all.

I've only seen his Eastwood movies.

So Im going with:

1. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
2. A Fistful of Dollars
3. For a Few Dollars More
