The Airplane made some good songs after Slick joined the band.

I'm a big fan of the albums After Bathing at Baxters and Crown of Creation. Hated all the Starship crap.

I like Surrealistic Pillow. The other ones have the maverick song or songs. Good Shepherd is my favourite song there. Never heard a Starship note, but unfortunately I bought and listened to one of the most horrible lp's ever: Blows Against the Empire.

White Rabbit is one of the greatest songs ever, but Surrealistic Pillow was not that great, or at least I never understood why it is that important. The one I like the most is the live album Bless Its Pointed Little Head.

That's a good one, but a better live album (from the period before that performance) came out a couple of years ago. Can't remember what it's called, but I like the set list better and the performances and the recording is top-notch (for the period). They had these great tapes and were just sitting on them for 40 years. Go figure.

They are not the only ones who are very reluctant if it comes to releasing old concerts. King Crimson is on the opposite site of the spectrum.
