In the French trailer at 1:31 there's an alternate take of Blondie saying something just after he says, "You thought I'd trust you?".

However, he doesn't appear to be saying the next line of the English script, "$200,000 is a lot of money. We're gonna have to earn it."

Can anyone make out what he's actually saying? I don't understand French but maybe the French translation in the translation gives a clue?

France used the same trailer as Germany (I have a 35mm copy of it). In both versions he says the same:   (But) 200.000 $ are quite a sum, and such a sum one has to earn.''

Thanks for the info, Mike.

Can you please translate the first few lines at the beginning of the trailer when Tuco is talking to the bartender (Socorro sequence)?

"t'aurais pas vu une moitié de cigar? Un blondin... très grand... et qui parle peu...?"
"Have you seen half a cigar? A blondie... very tall... who speaks little...?"

Interestingly, in the French trailer, a complete slide is shown for "Music by Ennio Morricone".  I can't say (but could be mistaken) that I've seen anything similar in an American trailer.

Maybe Europeans have a more-innate sense of the importance of film music...

Like I said, the trailer was used in France and Germany as well (probably Italia too ?).
And Morricone by 1967 was already well-known in Europe, his western music recordings
were already hits on the radio. He appeared on TV etc.
