Agreed 90% with Miranda. The 10% of disagreement is Muni's performance: his mimicry and gestures are rarely, if ever, controlled: he's just too emphatic. Raft: I wonder how he could have a movie career. The girls: both beautiful and good players, though Muni's sister is too old for the part. Vince Barnett should have received an Oscar: his performance has always stuck in my mind ever since I saw this movie as a kid and saw it repeatedly afterwards. Another problem lies with the fact that no character speaks an italian dialect (though Muni says a couple of words with neapolitan aceent towards the end) even at home.  9\10

P.S. I saw the De Palma in a theatre and found the movie and the Pacino's performance an insult to the original, except for the first scene. Didn't  see it again and won't ever.
