Putting the two in one topic since the fandoms already crossover the hell out of them.

Doctor Who's new season is coming soon and it will have a western episode - can't wait for it!  Evil Although when did the Doctor begin to tolerate guns again I don't know.

I have watched all the new series by now and began the old episodes (which are hilarious). Honestly, I'm waiting for 11 to regenerate. Two seasons weren't enough to develop feeling towards him. He's too invincible and somehow can't deliver drama like 9 and 10 could. And bring the Master back.

As for Supernatural, I'm on season 4. I have a serious case of Castiel. (Wouldn't he be good for an Innocent Young Hero in a western? He has very expressive eyes. Give him a wise old mentor and let them kick ass.)

I liked the original theme.

I caught some snippets on tv when the series was first aired over here in the '80's and never could understand what was going on.

The new series, if watched in order, explains things slowly. And new companions are not just damsels in distress, they save the Doctor many times. Then there is, of course, Captain Jack Harkness who is capable of secuding any life form or even robot.  Wink

Now I understand even less. Embarrassed

What's "secuding"?

Isn't it a bit risqué?

Well, it worked for him so far. Except the Doctor keeps cockblocking him.

What usually happens:

Jack meets someone: Hello, I'm Captain Jack Harkness...
The Doctor: STOP IT!
Jack: I was just saying hello...

But he is shown to have a lot of dates anyway. With basically any species he meets. Well, looking like this doesn't hurt:

Hey, he even got his own spinoff where he has sex with everyone fights aliens and dies about 4 times per episode.
