I've enjoyed reading the "best film of the 1970's" thread (begun by emmo26), and thinking about movies by the decade.

So I figure let's roll backward and try another decade as well:

List your favorite movies of the 1960's!

(For my own list, I will include all movies that I'd rate a minimum of 8.5/10)

Leone's on top, the rest In alphabetical order. 1960's, here we come:

A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West
Bonnie and Clyde
Bullitt
Cool Hand Luke
The Great Escape
Hombre
In Cold Blood
The Magnificent Seven
The Mercenary

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

Probably my favorite decade for films. I'll just single out a few favorites...

Lawrence of Arabia
OUATITW
The Battle of Algiers
The Wild Bunch
A Man for All Seasons
GBU
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
In Cold Blood
The Train
Dr. Strangelove
Z
Breathless
Billy Liar
The Guns of Navarone
How to Steal a Million
Ride the High Country
Black Girl
Zulu
Victim
Charade
Elmer Gantry
The Children's Hour

I guess "a few" is a relative term.

I've seen very few of the films on either of your lists, so now I have a few more films to put in my queue  Afro

I've only seen the second half of The Train, but it was indeed spectacular

just saw Grand Slam (1967), and I have to add that to the greatest movies of the 60's. Terrific heist movie!
