A New York stockbroker refuses to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street, corporate banking world and mob infiltration. Based on Jordan Belfort's autobiography.

I know there aren't too many Scorsese fans on here, but I'm making this thread to potentially lower his amount of fans. This is a movie I was quite excited for, but that excitement (and respect for Scorsese) has significantly dropped with this news:

I thought Scorsese would be the very last person to give into the death of film! He can go fuck himself.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Kyle Chandler. Interesting cast, at least. Hopefully he can pull off the whole digital thing as well as David Fincher has been doing the past few year.

It's sad that he is forced to go digital.  Undecided You can say anything you want about digital vs. film (and about Scorsese, for that matter), but this is a cruel proof that even the most powerful and influential filmmakers don't have artistic freedom worth shit.

I've got a big feeling that he didn't put up much of a fight to stick with film here.

Well it does say he was very depressed about it. I'm guessing that the financial failure of Hugo might have pushed the studios to force digital on him. I'm just surprised he gave in.
