Invenzione Per John

The song which is played in the beginning of the film as the credits roll is very curiously titled "Invenzione per John". It is the strangest (and one of the most beautiful at the same time) piece of music I have ever heard. In its entirety, it conveys a myriad of emotions. May anyone enlighten me why is it titled "Inventions for John" or "Invenzione per John"?

I am not sure why the track is titled "Inventions for John". I looked up the thesaurus, thinking I may be able to get clue about it but no success yet. The songs is played in the beginning during the credits and then infrequently throughout the movie. Gui La Testa has close resemblance to Inventions... but it is played only during the flashbacks (when John reminisces about his friend's betrayal) ], while Inventions is played when John makes an appearance, he awakes in the stagecoach and when he and Juan blow up the bridge.  Sorry, I cannot offer anymore insights and they are already so obvious

I too like the "Inventions for John" track. It takes me to a completely different yet higher level of subconscious. I play it whenever I can and it is on my car CD and I never get bored listening to it. I am writing a script for an Indian spaghetti western and would like to make it as close as possible to what Leone would have made, had he chosen to make a western style bandit movie based in Chambal and yes, I would like to use Morricone music from different westerns to serve its soundtrack

Does invenzione have a colloquial Italian meaning that's not obvious to us English-speakers? If so it may be a translator error.

If yes, then   If you manage to incorporate Sergio Leone trademarks and Ennio Morricone music, tht would be great.  As a lawyer,  though I would advise you to do your own due diligence on whether copyright subsists on the latter.(Ennio Morricone music) Inserting Sergio Leone trademarks will not present any problems though.
Groggy, indeed, it would be worth checking that too.

It's just an arty way of titling a work of art. In English we'd say something more like "Piece for John" or "Portrait  of John."

I believe it refers to Sean's "invention" of a toy train to carry explosives - it plays during that scene
