Just wondering, you know the ''crazy bellringer'' in Fistful, two questions: One, who plays him and Two: Why do all the townsfolk ignore him. Is it because he is crazy?

That's because everyone here is very rich, otherwise they are dead.

Don't know the answers but vaguely interesting point - Juan de Dios (I assume his name) translates to John of God. John of Gods is a lunatic asylum in the UK. Kind of appropriate as he was a crazy bellringer.

i think he's played by Raf Baldassare but im not entirely sure.  
I guess even Piripero who's pretty crazy himself stays away from Juan de Dios, the crazy bellringer.

I guess the townsfolk ignore him - or at least his bells - because they don't go to church on a sunday anyway.

possibly just the constant clang-clang sound of the bell would drive anyone nuts, although the crazy bellringer was a little off his rocker for taking the job in the first place.

Frayling, in his commentary, compared FOD to a play (like the sicilian puppet plays that influenced Leone)l in the final shot, as TMWNN rides away, Frayling says it's like the curtain is going up after the final act, and having compared the Silvanito, Pipipero, and Juan de Dios to "the  choruses," he says, now it's like, all that remains are the choruses.

So I guess it makes sense: one (Silvanito) is the good, normal friend who helps TMWNN; one (Piripero) is sort of a dimwit and a fool but is also a friend and helps TMWNN out of quite a few jams (and even provides him the dynamite to make his grand entrance into the final act of the play; and one (Juan de Dios) is just plain crazy, doesn't help TMWNN out at all except with some advice -- which, it turns out, may have been the most useful thing
