I kept 'flashing back' to DYS while watching it!

I don't see the film as being cliche ridden. Not any more so than most of the stuff out there. The Peckinpah comment was in response to you calling me  a " maroon ?"  some years ago when I expressed my thoughts on Mr Peckinpah.

For a start there's the whole Cain and Abel plot of two brothers who end up on opposite sides of the conflict. That established you can pretty much guess where the story's going. But that's a minor flaw in what's otherwise a solid movie.

I'm sorry that something I said to you years ago was so offensive that you bring it up in a random thread today.

That plot line is not anything new, one of em working with the Tans etc, but it did happen.

I've not been active for some time and was reading some old posts and it shocked me that my post resulted in the literary lashing from such an erudite gunslinger like yourself. I guess it just shows your passion for his works. I do feel quite strongly about this film however.

I remember seeing this in cinema... it was pretty good apart from that one firing squad scene consisting zero blood. I mean, they didn't shy away from shoving torture earlier? Why the sudden ridiculous lack of blood?
