I'm not sure if this has been posted here, but I found this documentary about Sergio Leone & Tonino Delli Colli, it's in another language but I thought I'd put it here for those who can understand what is being said. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOK4ET3hQ0A

Nice find! I really loved the archive footage of Sergio showing his pasta who's master.

That's what you get, Drink, for being such an annoying Melville fanboy.

Just when you think that you have seen all documentaries on Sergio, this one pops up (dated 2005 and made for the german TV WDR). Nothing really new, except for the interview with Franco Di Giacomo (assistant cameraman on GBU and OUTITW), where he says some interesting things about shooting the Sad Hill sequence. They mounted two cameras on top of each other, one focusing on Tuco, the other one on the background of the cemetery, spinning the two cameras 360 around for 4 times, while Tuco was running around. Innovative technique, which apparently has never been used before, extremely difficult.
Also he mentioned that the epic sequence of Jill at the train station , with the camera soaring over the roof of the station, took two full days of rehearsals and coordination with the music etc. He claims it was one of the most difficult shots ever achieved by Leone.
The documentary was made in italian, then dubbed into german; one of the few times I was happy to speak fluently german (since you couldn't hear the italian once dubbed).
Thanks Senza for this find and for posting!  Afro
