Excellent thriller for 2\3, it loses steam in last part, the way it makes Cochran and Lorre lose their "chase" being quite moronic (though based on the just as moronic but brilliant trick of the double set of pedals of the car). I'll check the Woolrich's novel, though I suspect it could be even less "rigorous" than the movie's story.  The four actors are all excellent (though Morgan is not as ravishing as in other movies: was she dubbed, btw?). I wonder what Hitchcock could have done with it. 7\10

Got email from Amazon that expected delivery date for the new BRD is May 31-June 6.

So I have a few weeks to decide if I wanna keep the order  Wink

My estimated arrival date is May 24, the day of release. Once again, Prime members are preferred.

So you pay a hundred dollars a year and get the disc a few days earlier. I'll keep my hundred bucks

I also get all my shipping without charge. And I buy a lot from amazon. Yeah, it's worth it.

I tried canceling my pre-order of The Chase, but Amazon did not let me: Because I (not being a Prime member) had used that disc as part of $49 worth of merchandise to get free shipping, they're not letting me cancel now. They say I can contact customer service, maybe they can help me out, but whatever, it's not worth the hassle. I'll pay the $19.99 (or less if the price goes down) and get on with my life  Wink

I think if you contact customer service (there's an email form for it) they'll help you out. I had a similar situation with them and they took care of the matter for me. But whatever.

I watched most of this a couple nights ago and I really loved the first two acts or hour, but wow does this fall off a cliff, like, instantaneously. I couldn't even finish it. The third act was confusing, illogical, boring and just an overall shark jump of near epic proportions. Still, this movie is worthy because the first hour is very good.

I totally get why some of you are getting this on bluray, and I might pick it up down the line and just pretend it's an hour long or something.

7/10 that should be a 9.

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

What you say is true. It's not successful as a whole, but there are parts that have me standing at attention with a grin and a salute. Michele Morgan can do no wrong. Peter Lorre can do no wrong. Steve Cochran can do no wrong. And the gag with the rear seat accelerator is (literally) to die for.

That was a great gag and I totally agree with you, but I was just so surprised by the last 25 minutes or so. I don't think I've ever seen a movie quite like it. The only thing that comes to mind is Destry Rides Again but that doesn't really compare.

I totally agree that it's a worthy movie. I'd much rather watch a great first hour than a decent 90 minutes anyday.
