Post from the EM forum:
"About yesterday's concert in Budapest: it was wonderful, apart from some minor faults of the sound engineer (During the performance of "On Eart As It Is In Heaven", the choir absolutely overpowered the orchestra, it was impossible to hear what the orchestra played and even the choir sounded a bit like "mixed together". During some other performances, some instruments were also way too loud compared to others.)
The program was the same as in the previous concerts in this tour. The encores were: Chi Mai, The Ecstasy of Gold and On Earth As It Is In Heaven. There was no intermission, the Maestro conducted the two hour concert without a break.
As for the Maestro: he seemed very fragile now. At the beginning of the concert they announced that Morricone had an aching leg so he would conduct the orchestra not as he used to do, standing in front them, but sitting in front of them on a high chair and he would like to apologize for this. (No wonder: this week he has had four concerts! It's crazy, in his age, I think. He should have some rest, more free days between the concerts.) At the end of the concert he needed some assistance to stand up from the chair. I do hope he manages to get better and conduct all the planned concerts.
I am very grateful that I could see the Maestro again and I wish him good health during this long concert series."

Will do. Four more weeks until your concert, so let's hope he completely recuperates.
This might explain the injury - from the FSM Board:
"Ennio Morricone said in a recent interview to a Swiss newspaper (to promote his concert he held in Zurich - where he apparently fell from the podium at the end of the event) that he'd love to score more science fiction movies..."
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=101936&forumID=1&archive=0
The next concert after Zurich was Budapest where he was seated, ditto for Vienna...

So it sounds like he can continue the tour if he sits. No biggie from my point of view.
The idea that a conductor can injure himself by falling off a podium in the 21st Century strikes me as ludicrous. Podiums should raise and lower at will. Why are we still using 19th Century technology?
