I don't care if he doesn't change his song list at all, I'm happy for everything he gives us.
I'm so happy I saw him in person.
Stuttgart, Feb. 18th, a wonderful evening we had, just great...

Back.
It was a great evening - I had a terrific spot, 10 meters from Ennio, looking at his right profile. He was seated the whole time during the regular set, and was standing during the three encores.
Even while seated, it was interesting watching him every now and then leaping from his chair, as some crescendo would approach.
"Abolisson" rocked the Arena, although the brief solo was completely off-key - be interesting to see it again on Youtube - God knows what Ennio thought of it... "what a mistake-a to make-a!", most probably!
The Arena wasn't sold out, reports say there were 4000 people, but the crowd was great, standing ovations an' all.
There was no programme booklet, but the setlist was the usual one anyway:

Very similar to the concert I saw in 2009, this time with Chi mai, Cinema Paradiso & Malena substituting Per le antiche scale, L'eredità Ferramonti & The Desert of the Tartars, so that was a nice change.
Morricone playing chess in his dressing room two hours before the concert:

Nice!
He plays The Ecstasy of Gold too fast at his concerts, no? Almost every live version I've seen or heard (YouTube or iTunes) has EoG played faster than the original, and I don't like it.

Like I said, you'll like it on stage. As a real Metallica fan, you know that comparing live and studio version of songs isn't really fair: as long as you're not witnessing the live performance, well, "live", you're missing half the experience.

I'm in complete agreement with this. Makes me want to go back to watching the Yo-Yo Ma performance.

You still agree, you're still wrong. When you'll see it for real you won't even think about it. It's always the high point of the concert and everybody loves it, everytime. You're not Titoli you cannot be THAT wrong.

I'd be happy to see it for real if Morricone would finally come to America!

Interesting seeing two Ennio gigs on Billboard's boxscore...
O2 Arena, London, U.K. Feb. 5, 2015, attendance: 9,748 / 12,687
O2 World, Berlin, Germany, Feb. 10, 2015, attendance: 6,601 / 9,106

Looks like he has definitely regained his health. So this is all for 2016 then.
By the way, I thought the term was "hair raising" not "hair rising"...
