Also, although I'm usually not very fond of The Legend of 1900's soundtrack, it kicked ass.

Glad you saw the light - it's a beautiful soundtrack.

I guess the mighty "Abolisson" was saved for an encore, right?

Oh, and he did not do "Bestiality" on the 2nd night! Glad you went to the 1st night. From one review:

"The 2nd part kicked off with the powerful La diligenza di Red Rock but Morricone alas didn't play Bestiality (which he played the day before, I was told)."

Yep, 1st encore Smiley
(then Ecstasy of Gold and then On Earth As it is in Heaven)

Wow, glad I was there on the 1st night. I wonder why he didn't do it, it went pretty well. Not as powerful as La diligenza di Red Rock but still.

drink, there’s still hope for ya!

"... he laughs when I suggest he take his tour to the US. “I don’t feel like flying and going all the way to America,” he says. “I didn’t even want to go and pick up the Oscar. The producer and the director asked me to please go.” He had to cancel three concerts earlier this year due to back problems, but throws open his arms in a broad show of generosity. “OK, I would go to America if they pay me loads of money.”

Thanks for the link! A good read  Afro
I'll pay loads of money for a concert!

I think I paid around $200 per ticket for the concert he had scheduled in NY several years ago, which was canceled because of his back injury.

So the 2017 leg of the "60 Years of Music Tour" tour started two days ago in Prague.

Judging by the first review --

http://www.ceskenoviny.cz/zpravy/morricone-v-praze-dirigoval-vsede-publikum-aplaudovalo-vestoje/1446366

-- Dulce Pontes was there, so the programme got changed a bit. I see "Nostromo" was mentioned. Looking forward to more reports and videos.

... and Man with the harmonica is back in the set! Sorry, Noodles!  Undecided

I saw that on Facebook... Here I am again, wondering what I should do Smiley
I don't like the place (Bercy/AccorHotels Arena). Too big, bad acoustic: it's a stadium. I saw Morricone there once (my 2nd time).

Yes, but consider this - you will now lead 4:3 in our "how many times did you see EM in concert" competition!  Azn

My treasure: Belgrade 2009, Zagreb 2015, Budapest 2016.

Way cool, Maestro is returning to Hungary; I might see him for the 4th time now.  Cool

Yeah - but I saw "The Spaghetti Western Orchestra" !!!  They haven't toured since 2014 though.  The leader is an amazing whistler.

Speaking of whistlers, Ennio's original whistler died in march, aged 92:

Cusser, can you shorten that link please?  It is stretching out the page. You can easily shorten any link by going to goo.gl

Thanks  Smiley
