Loved this film, but, i came into it biased. I have a distant relative who had fur dealings with Hugh Glass.  Now, even though i was biased and wanted this movie to be good for that reason, it still was a great movie.  Everything was great and on point.  The only thing i didn't like, and it had more to do with the script being based on a true story, i would've loved to see more combat between the native americans and the fur traders who were running away. That opening battle sequence was a monster.  Other than that, it was a fantastic movie...

I enjoyed "The Revenant" far more than "Carol". However, as I mentioned earlier, I was blown away by the cinematography. Personally I think I would have given Lachman the Oscar for Cinematography for "Carol" over Lubezki for "The Revenant".

CAROL was great in every aspect.
REVENANT has some major problems with the script

What problems did you have with the script?

The script was written that way to give impact to a very long journey that Hugh Glass had. Thats why it seemed overboard...

Watch MAN IN THE WILDERNESS. with Richard Harris as the revenant and John Huston as the guy he is chasing. A far better movie than The Revenant, about basically the same story.

I just recently listened to a radio version of this story. In that version Glass forgives and lets him live!
