Bronson had a three picture deal with Dino De Laurentiis back in the early 70's in agreement for him doing THE VALACHI PAPERS (1972). The three films were CHINO (1973), THE STONE KILLER (1973) and DEATH WISH (1974). They both teamed up again in 1977 for THE WHITE BUFFALO, a big budget flop for the Italian movie mogul, one of a string of flops, actually.

I have no reason not to trust you, AC, but where did the big budget money go? The movie looks cheap.

Bronson must have taken his share, and I suppose Warden was also payed well, but besides them I can't see what could have they possibly spent the millions on. OK, count in the director and the special effects (the carousel WB and the snowy sets), but that's it.

I give it a 6\10. Worth watching but not re-watching unless you have forgotten to have it seen it at all. Nobody here mentioned the very effective trip in the coach, which would have fit a great horror movie.

That filthy saloon is monumental. An OW/frontier saloon if I ever saw one (in a movie). I still remember it vividly.

I was given a copy in a trade and later bought one through someone with connections over there as it was a bit hard to find. $44 I think it was. Japanese DVD's are very expensive. The most I paid for one was $50 for some of the spaghetti western discs. The DVD had the soundtrack, too.
