http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0128442/

So this movie has sort of a connection with the MWNN character: at some point in the movie Damon and Norton are preparing a poker scheme but Damon decides not to follow Norton's plan and leaves - only to return later in the nick of time and bail him out. So, he asks Norton how did he know he'll come, and Norton replies (paraphrase): ''Of course I knew you'd come - Clint Eastwood - TMWNN - always sticks out for his buddy!''

Anyway, I didn't think much of the movie; though it got interesting in a few situations it was mostly derivative and predictable. Damon playing the young-smart-but-poor-guy-trying-to-pay-college-driving-sideways-through-life felt awfully familiar. On the bright side: couldn't find anything wrong with most of the performances.

5/10

Oh yeah I saw it a few weeks ago on Netflix. I had completely forgotten about its existence. I agree with your 5/10. The movie is nothing but a collection of clichés not really well done. On the other hand, nothing is wrong with it. It's just pointless and déjà vu.

The Clint Eastwood reference made me smile. The line doesn't work very well (TMWNN does NOT stick out for his buddies) but didn't feel like out of nowhere either. I don't remember exactly but I thing Damon's girlfriend calls him Eastwood earlier or he said something about going to the movies a lot or something like that.

Yes, I'm trying  to figure whether that misinterpretation of  the MWNN character was intentional or not from the writers... Undecided

I  missed that girlfriend part.
