Actually, FOD is by far my least favorite Leone film.  The low budget is a big part of it, but it isn't the only part.
The Dollars trilogy is Leones best in my books but both FAFDM and GBU are so much better than FOD which is still top notch though!

Well you're certainly entitled to your opinions Banjo, FAFDM and definitely GBU are about six thousand times better than the poorly dubbed FOD, which has maybe three cool scenes and nothing else worth watching.  I mean, I honestly like FOD less every time I watch it.  It's not a terrible movie but it's very difficult for me to watch it more than once in a long while.

I must admit I feel somewhat the same way.

Yeah, I also think it is a LOT less entertaining than the other 2 Dollars films. As far as the bad dubbing goes: this may be a film better appreciated in Italian with English subtitles . . . it would be nice if you could have R1 DVD editions of the film with the Italian dub (or dubs).

Like Banjo, I have no problem with dubbing. In fact bad dubbing is something I look for when watching this genre. But Groggy is right FOD is hard to watch after you have seen the likes of Leone's other westerns.
It just doesnt hold up to the others.

I dislike the scene where John strangles the chicken in DYS, I also dislike the flip-flop edit later in that film (you know the one)...

Your entitled to your opinion, but IMO FAFDM and GBU had tolerable dubbing, while in OUATITW and DYS it was roughly as perfect as one could get.  Then again, I'm not a fan of Spaghettis in general, just Leone.

Well, everybody seems to have a general dislike of some of the restored scenes in GBU, but I really like the one where Angel Eyes shows up at the fort with all of the dying soldiers and gives them a drink.

I've only seen it in Italian, but I quite liked the scene.  Most of the other ones didn't add a whole lot to the film.  I don't think the restoration is necessary, if anything the plot holes in the 161 minute cut add to the film's epic scale.

Grogs, do you have the Extended Version DVD with those scenes done in english?  I don't remember who the actor was, but the voice fill-in for LVC was dead-on.  The extras on that 2-disc set are pretty good, and the movie does look cleaned up some on that first disc.

More than worth it if you haven't picked it up.  Amazon's probably got it for under $20.

I wouldnt say "dead-on" but he comes close.
The actor's imitation voice was a bit to "frog in the throat"(if you get my meaning) like.

I noticed that too. It's almost as if he forgot to clear his throat before the dubbing.

of course these are just my thoughts:)

I'm not sure if I understand this too well. Could you elaborate?
The "God forgives... I dont" comment kinda came out of nowhere.
