DVD times posted a review today: http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=56749

Understandably, they don't like the fact that we don't get the mono track. But the picture looks great they say.

Can't wait to see the prologue.

I have just viewed the SE disc FOD and also FAFDM(i was holding out for the German DVD but couldn't pass over W.H.Smith Online offer of £4 adisc). One BIG complaint about the SE GBU was the alteration of the gun shot sounds -you get more impact from a wet lettuce hitting the dirt!!!.However i am pleased to report that to my ears they don't appear to be tampered with(god knows why they did this to GBU because all the restoration work was done in strict chronological order of Leone'e westerns we are told on disc 2) in any noticable way so that the pistol and rifle shots are not alike and sound pretty much like they do in my old vhs video copies i've had taped of the telly for 10 years! In fact for me ,together with the surround sound, the stunning new picture makes for a totally unique viewing experience.Having previously watched these movies hundreds of times , i had been looking elsewhere  for other spaghettis to give me that wow factor.Suddenly it's like watching  new films  all over again,i'm re-examining these movies and finding out new things about them.I do agree, however, that an original mono soundtrack as Leone intended should be present .
