Well, he just mentioned one film, that I''ve never seen to make a comparison, If he gave more comparisons maybe I could judge one way or the other, wasn''t the Return of Martin Guerre remade as the crappy Sommersby?

Wow... just seen "Le Grand Bleu" and I must admit that  Besson really loves the sea, the "photography" (I don't know  the technical word you use in english) is great ....brilliant  the idea of the blue filter in the opening scene....mediterranean sea is wonderful!!!
..but I don't like the script , by this way "leon" & "Nikita" are better!
vive la france!

P.S.
this film was denied in italy for 14 years because Enzo Maiorca didn't approve it!   until  Jacques Mayol's death

plus a wonderfull sequence in Monument valley, don't forget it.

America has some of the greatest filmakers ever... in france, we don't have so much: truffaut (who's dead), Renoir (wh'os dead), jeunet, klapish... i can't think to anyone else!

What about Luc besson, great great filmaker

I'm french and i'm sure Leone would be proud of me. Particulary concerning the movie that english call "A fistful of dynamite"
Indeed, France is the only country that called it "once upon a time...the revoltution", as Leone wished it!!!
He ofently said that the american title was so ridiculous...

Other thing: france, in opposite from America, doesn't cut this wonderful flash back which is for me the greatest part of this movie!!!

what a patriotic post!

Not much else to be proud of in France. Tongue

I had to glance through this thread to see what the purpose of it was, and I'm still not entirely sure about that, but let's stay away from those political-esque posts (to coin my own phrase Wink).

Shut your mouth, froggy. j/k  Grin

If you noticed the Tongue, I was kidding.  I'd rather not get into a political argument if at all possible.  This is the LEONE board, after all.

we do not care of being french italian or anything else. If leone's wish was to call this movie once upon a time the revolution which is nobler, so lets call it like this. we like sergio cinema and we are using this website to promote it not to be patriotic

Well this is quite a "noble" quest you are undertaking here Roberti  trying to change the Fistful of Dynamite title over 3 different threads but Once Upon A Time The Revolution was eliminated democratically in the 2nd round of the vote
You're too late,buddy!!

Speaking about "Le dernier combat", I found many similarties between "Mad Max 3"  and the scenario of " Le dernier combat". Just a coincidence?
