It's probably my favorite movie, and the beginning and end sequences are unforgettable.  But my favorite parts of the movie are the "Civil War" sequences, from their capture by the Dusty soldiers through the Angel Eyes/Wallace torture of Tuco, then the Matter of the Bridge.   Unbelievable stuff.  The kid with the violin...

More feeling.

Ectasy Of Gold Cemetery scene is my favorite...

The music, the photography, it's a great Leone's moment...

seconds before tuco discovers  bill carson's grave at sad hill, delli colli's camera "spins" in the opposite direction tuco has been running in.

I just remembered a good one; When Tuco and Blondie meets the union soldiers after leaving the monastery. I just love the look on Tuco's face when the union soldier brushes the dust from his uniform. And Blondies comment "God's not on our side cos he hates idiots also" just makes tuco even more of a fool. That's when you can almost hear Tuco's inner voice say "Fuuuuuuck!"  ;D

the camera work done in the 3 way corrida. that extreme close up of tuco's eyes darting back and forth.

morricone, deli colli, leone eveyone involved in making this film know it's the last and the're all working in concert trying to out do themselves.

blondies poker face as he waits for angel eyes to make a move.
he knows he dosn't want to shoot tuco and only has to concentrate on angel eyes. after angel eyes falls conveniently into the open grave there is one more shot of clint shifting his cigar from on side of his mouth to the other.  8)

I like the scene where Eli is smiling at Angle Eyes while positioning his gun down while they are getting ready to center up in the final shootout .. like  "I am finally going to get to kill you "

Whilst I love the Ecstacy of Gold, I'm in agreement with Hex where I like the Trio better.
