Were Millard Mitchell and Ray Collins ever young? And did Shelley Winters ever manage to look vaguely like a female? And yet, in spite of the moronic premise of the story, it must be a good movie which I can't judge properly as I watched a dubbed copy of bad quality. But Colman is huge in this and I give it 8/10 which could have been even higher with an original and better copy.

By premise do you mean the idea of an actor over-identifying with his role? I rather like it. I agree that Coleman is great in this, and I enjoy the fact that the climax of Shakespeare's play provides the setting for the climax of the film. I think an "8" is about right.
