This is marketed as a noir too. Incredible. Lang makes the best out of the story but the problem is that, as nasty as the nazi are portrayed here, they're still a long way from the awful truth. There was no room for all the trickeries shown here: they might have been working for the usual hollywooden comedy (which this movie in the end proves to be) but not for nazi occupied countries. Significant that both Brecht and Lang were so distant from even imagining the truth. And anyway the movie is too long. 5/10

agree 5/10 saw it recently also.
