What's your favorite non Leone's Clint movie as an actor?
For me, there are "Madison Bridges", "Unforgiven", "A perfect World" (is it the true name??? :-\) with Costner, which is, as "Madison Bridges", a beautiful movie where Clint breaks his role of super man as Dirty Harry...In fact, a lot of Clint as director!!!!! ;D ;D

High Plains Drifter and GBU.  He did a very good job in Dirty Harry too.

The best film that he's in as an actor: FAFDM.

His best performance: In the Line of Fire.

His best directorial effort: Play Misty for Me.

Dave Jenkins, Calder Benson, Jim Cooper, Chuck Youngblood. They were all alive until they met you, Frank.

Best Non-Leone Clint?  Dirty Harry.

Runner up is probably Play Misty or Magnum Force.

He's fantastic in all three Leone appearances.   Coolest work any actor ever did.

More feeling.

I really love Where Eagles Dare. I think WED is one of the coolest films I have ever seen since Casablanca. Did you guys know that Clint kills more people in WED than any other Eastwood movie?

Other Good Eastwood Movies:
Kelly's Heroes
Play Misty For Me
Dirty Harry
High Plains Drifter
The Outlaw Josey Whales
In The Line Of Fire
Mystic River
Blood Work

Where Eagles Dare, is another non-Leone favorite I didn't list.  I'd pair that with Dirty Harry above Magnum Force, etc.

Do you know one day, Don Siegel said to Wayne "kill him in the back". Wayne said: "I don't want; I've never kill a man in the back, and I'll never kill like that!!!". And Siegel answered "Eastwood could do it...".
I like this anecdote.  ;D

I always liked Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, they filmed it in Montana near some of my old stomping grounds.

i think that the bridges of madison county or mystic river are definitly the top 2 eastwood's movies as a director... and of course, GBU is the best movie in which clint has been involved.

have you ever read mystic river? it is the kind of book that can't be imagined as a film, it's just pure litterature, you know... and clint did it, and it became a wonderful movie.

For the bridges of madison county, as they wrote in telerama (french magazine): who could film two lovers beeing separated under the rain and keep it so great?
