Two James Cagney gangster films

Tonight I'm watching two gangster films starring James Cagney:

The Public Enemy and The Roaring Twenties.

Both of these movies are about the rise and fall of some gangsters.

The Roaring Twenties has a great soundtrack and I love the supporting role played by Gladys George.

James Cagney does such a superb job in both movies.

Who else is a fan of at least one of these films?

Gladys George is so underrated. Did anyone see her in the 1930s version of Madame X? What a performance!

By the way, who else liked the historical references to changes in the world after WWI in The Roaring Twenties?

I like how the guy doing the voiceover made some brief remarks about the start of Prohibition, the gangster activity during that time, the stock market crash (followed by poverty), etc.

I don't recall picking up on them when I watched the movie, so I guess a rewatch is in order! Thanks
