Ok Leone fans..who's up to this challenge..

I was recently watching a movie - a film that was made before OUATITW - and there is a reference to a character named Ed McBain and a town called Sweetwater..

I suspect it was Leone paying subtle homage to a film and/or actor that he really liked..

Anybody have any idea what the film was and who the actor was..???

Good luck..!!

I just saw it too!, I didn't catch the Ed Mcbain reference but I remember the Sweetwater reference, so It had to be one of the John Wayne movies I squirmed in my seat through, withinin the last few weeks. Lets see, "Son's of Katie Elder", was one "McClintock" was another, there was a few others too, and one was a non Wayne western, don't remember for sure.

Was there a reference to Sweetwater in Firecreek with Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda? I remember there being something in that movie that might have been referenced in OUATITW. I might be wrong, though.
