He Ran All the Way (1951)

Plot: John Garfield, on the run from the cops after a deadly robbery, holes up in the home of Shelly Winters, taking her and and her family hostage.

cast, courtesy of wikipedia

    John Garfield as Nick Robey
    Shelley Winters as Peg Dobbs
    Wallace Ford as Mr. Dobbs
    Selena Royle as Mrs. Dobbs
    Gladys George as Mrs. Robey
    Norman Lloyd as Al Molin
    Bobby Hyatt as Tommy Dobbs
Keith Hetherington as Captain of Detectives

A few years ago I saw this and gave it a scathing review in RTLMYS thread. I saw it again yesterday  and liked it more. I give it a 7/10.

I think Garfield is an overrated actor. Shelley Winters I absolutely cannot stand. Wallace Ford is a character actor I have always liked very much.

Norman Lloyd, who is still with us (he'll be 103 in November!) has a brief part as Garfield's accomplice in the robbery.

This movie played TCM Noir Alley yesterday. Hosted by Eddie Muller of course, with guest Julie Garfield, daughter of John.

here is the TCM intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKLkC9-vnx0&feature=youtu.be

here is the intro and outro from a showing of this movie in 2015 on TCM, hosted by the useless Tiffany Vazquez https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-KV2Vg4CXY

Could you post the link to that? I can't find it here.

Still haven't seen this movie, but it's on my list.

Thanks, should have checked youtube. I like Garfield, though I wouldn't call him a favorite.
