Sounds like industry suicide. Fewer seats filled means fewer concession sales, the point where the real money is made. Meanwhile, overhead, in the form of increased security workers, sky-rockets.Prices have to go up. The prospect of home viewing becomes even more attractive.

I've gone plenty at 27! I live 20 minutes from a decent one in Rhode Island. They just re-opened but are currently only screening the stuff that was in theaters before it last closed. I'm hoping that before movies get released again, they'll start showing some classics.
