This is very good for the first 30';  then it is good  or about (a long chase with a good gimmick: a bull to ride the desert and lose the chasers) but the last third is MGM crap for female audience:McCrea becoming Florence Nightingale is pure crap, I had to force myself to watch it to the end. I haven't read the novel (considered unanimously in the top ten of best ever in the genre) and thanx to the movie I can skip it. 6-7/10.

Something to do with death

This is a favourite film of mine. I can understand that the final third is a bit dull, but I still enjoy it. Very interesting concept and I'm a big McCrea fan. I guess compared to other McCrea westerns it's probably not as good as the ones he did with Tourneur or Ride the High Country (few films are).
