Here Voigt replaces TLJ and no harm done, as I had not appreciated very much the former's performance as he had taken his character too literally. On the contrary Barbara Hershey shows (not such a great feat) how great a piece of miscasting was her role as played by Anjelica Huston. Schroeder's character has matured and so the acting abilityof the guy, in spite of the little credibility the plot assigns to him. In fact his relationship with Oliver Reed and his kid wife (the actress was 16 when they shot the movie and it shows, though not a beauty) stinks from start to end: why not make Reed simply the evil cattle baron? On the positive side, we have the good Indians and the good blacks but also, apart from the bad (renegade, though) Indians at long last a very bad bad black villain (the heir of Forrest character) very well played. And then we have some VG scenes: a run of the arrow encore, the firestorm at the end of part 2 and the ambush. Of course they had to justify the 4 parts and make it suitable for a female audience. But it is clear that without the milk and honey it would have been much better. And Nia Peeples is very pretty. 7/10
