In a movie that contains so many classic scenes.....which scene do you think is the best in this wonderful movie?

almost every scene is perfect in this movie... but i prefer (so do lots of people i think) the final duel, of course...
Are also for me part of the best sequences ever:
the first scene
Jill at the station
Jill, harmonica and cheyenne in the relay
the death of morton
the killing
...

frank & harmonica toe to toe. that long shot of frank staring down harmonica. harmonica's flashback.
the the cut back to the lightning draw of harmonica.

also that 3-4 second shot of the broken down corrida cj spotted a while back blew me away.

lead up to final showdown... fonda pacing... bronson's head spinning... drums rolling... the drop of the jacket... the zoom in to the flashback

the flashback itself... "keep your loving brother happy"

Bronson saying "someday" as he walks out the door.

Mcbain masacre

and my favorite... fondas return to the death ridden mortons railroad... and mortons death.

Harmonica: So, you're not a businessman after all.
Frank: Just a man.

After the final dual and the McBain massacre, my next favourite scene is probably the trading post scene where Cheyenne and Harmonica meet for the first time. Maybe a controversial choice, plus wasn't this one of the deleted scenes in the US theatrical release? It has some of the best lines in the film ("inside the men there were 3 bullets"; "do you know how to shoot, or just how to play?"; "used it all together or one at a time?"), and its also the first proper introduction we get to the characters of Jill, Cheyenne and Harmonica. One particular bit I like in it is when Cheyenne swings the lantern over to reveal Harmonica lurking in the shadows.

It's class.

I think an overlooked scene is Jill's arrival at the McBain Ranch, with the whole Farkel family laid out on the tables, through their burials.  Almost no dialog, done mostly with images and music.

Jill at the station is one that has really grown on me in the last few years.  When I first saw it I thought it was slow and the music made it sound like the words 'The End' were going to be coming up any second.  It's actually a very busy piece of work which throws up something new with every viewing.
