You are an alien from another planet. Please get back on your flying saucer and go home.

Who what where when how and why did this post from 2011 come up now. Mostly why

I did write  something else way up in this thread that I very much disagree with now: preferring Body Heat to Double Indemnity. As I made clear in several posts back, I now certainly prefer DI to BH. But the part about enjoying a movie more if I do not know the plot beforehand is still absolutely true.

You told me there already was a thread so I combined them.  ;)

I was asking dj why he decided to ask me now about a comment I made 5 years ago (but which is still as true today as it was then)

I have seen this movie several times but don't own the disc; decided to rectify that now.

Comparing Beaver's screencaps between DVD and BRDhttp://www.dvdbeaver.com/film5/blu-ray_reviews_71/body_heat_blu-ray.htm
looks to me like the DVD is has more realistic skin tones. Of course, Beaver, who reflexively says the BRD is better than the DVD every goddamn time, says the most noticeable improvement is in the colors especially the skin tones! Can any one of you look at those skin tones and tell me that the BRD is advanced in that regard??? Look specifically on the closeup shots; on the BRD, the faces look very red; on the DVD's, they look a much more natural skin color.

Truth is, I just checked Amazon; the BRD & DVD are both so cheap - around $5-$10 each - it may not be a bad idea to buy both and then choose for myself which is better.

Just watched the movie again (on DVD, approximately 5th viewing).

Still a terrific movie, directly ripped off Double Indemnity.

Yes, terrific film.

Double Indemnity is quite good as well, but I never thought Stanwyck was right casting.  And tough to remember that Ernie-kidnapper MacMurray had quite a few non-comedic roles, but he never seemed as tough as his dialog in this.

As I?ve said before, I hate Stanwyck in DI and all her other movies.
