Loosely based on the William Desmond Taylor's murder it has a great cast and a good script. Some exterior of L.A. and a  good finale in the studio's set.  Sure, the murder of Taylor could have made a better picture, but it has got little to do with Sunset Boulevard of the year before. 7/10
