I don't think he names him. (I saw the interview 2-3 years ago). He just said, if I remember well, that he had to go to Israel to take the shooting in hand and LVC was very happy to see him.

More than likely it was Menahem Golan who was handling directing chores. Both the Cannon producers were very controlling and difficult to deal with. Golan often took over directing on some of the movies and also did a lot of directing himself for various movies they put out.
