Yeah, I agree  DJimbo. They were quite lovable as scruffy street kids but thoroughly unlikeable as adults.

I really liked young Patsy, probably because of that quite moving cream cake scene.

Dominic, although Patsy is a good second.

i love cokey's song... i love this character, kind of harmonica: he plays when he would have better to talk, and when he would have better to play, he... plays.

my favorite is noodles. yeah he turns out to be a killer and a rapist, but had dominic not been shot; he would've turned out much the same. i love the fact that noodles doesn't shoot max in the end. it shows the difference between him and max. noodles may be a horrible person, but he did not betray his friends. and max did exactly that. as far as cockeye and patsy, they are both just average dumb thugs. they were never any good anyway in my opinion.

Dominic. It was a shame he was killed off as a kid, but then I think his character simply worked so well as that cheeky chirpy four foot boy, perhaps it was necessary he was the one who wasn't shown as an adult in the film. In fact, now I think about it, Dominic's death could be seen as some sort of metaphor for the loss of childhood innocence.

Noodles did betray his friends, however you may look at it, he did call the police and gave them the tip. Possibly this was all set up by Max, unbeknownst to Noodles, or maybe not. But the fact remains that Noodles sold out his friends and planned to take off with the money.

My favorite is Cockeye, because of, well, his song.
Noodles is a rat bastard and a rapist, no matter how much he regrets it. Max is craxy and mean, and Patsy, well, there's not really much to be said about Patsy. I didn't take Dominic into account, because most of the things the characters do for which we can dislike them, they do as adults, so a comparison wouldn't be fair in my eyes.

Really? So that's why he didn't join in on the action that night?

Cockeye because I really liked William Forsythe's performance.
