Is It me or does Guy Callaway look absolutly nothing like his Wanted poster in Tucumcari.
He doesn't even have a moustache, and his hair ..well!!!

At least  Baby Cav and Indio looked something like themselves but Guy could have been anyone in the world.

That always bugged me too, especially coming so early in the movie.

Another thing that annoys me is the HORRIBLE dubbing in the scene where Mortimer discusses Guy Calloway with the ticket agent at the train station.  Usually the dubs are pretty damn good in the $$ Trilogy, but this one is terrible and it comes right at the beginning of the movie and turns a lot of newbies off.  It's like watching Clutch Cargo.

dyu know what pisses me off - the poster the sheriff shows tuco in GBU has tuco's face off, but u can clearly see 'Guy Calloway' is the wanted name!! obviously couldnt fit 'Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez' on the poster so just used the old one from FAFDM!  ;D

The number of times I've seen that scene and never noticed once...how many more like that?

I've read  and heard on commentaries that Leone was a great scholar and collector of art, and that many of his famous big close ups of his actors were inspired by paintings. I've always seen a similarity between the shot of Callaway when we first see his  face after the Colonel shoots his horse and Diego Velasquez's painting 'The Dwarf Francisco Lezcano'.

That is a striking resemblance, certainly seems like more than a coincidence.  Nice eye Buntline:

I've got a theory - SL probably had already cast someone as Guy Callaway and had the Wanted poster printed up to resemble him.

Then he probably saw someone on the location crew who reminded him of this haunting Velasquez painting he'd once seen, and he said - "Halto, Halto!  We're putting this guy in the movie instead!"

You can actually see the photo of Tuco is stuck on the old poster, right bottom corner is not stuck well and is showing a shadow.

I doubt however it's the exact same poster as in FAFDM. That one is slightly torn on the left side and I can't see that on the GBU poster. Also the drawing of Guy is bigger than the picture of Tuco, but you can't see it in GBU. It could be that they whiped out the drawing. Even the paper color and thickness looks different to me(though that might be just an impression). My guess is they just used another print of the FAFDM poster.

Actually just looked even a bit more in detail. The poster in FAFDM hanging in the train station is not even the same one Mortimer slides under the door thought the story makes you believe it is.

For one it's lacking the two zero's Guy supposedly added himself but that could just be a continuity error. But I took screenshots and it's actually not even the same drawing of the face on both posters. So even those two are two different copies.

I think the al interiors were shot at Cinecitta in Rome & the all the location in Almeria, so its entierly possible that they forgot a couple of props here and there, there is a heck of a lot of stuff to keep track of.

You don't see too many glaring errors like that in a Leone film.

It may have already been pointed out - the actor who played the role originally was seriously injured when he jumped onto the horse and, thus, he was replaced. This could easily explain the lack of resemblance in the poster.

How's this for ironic - I think the actor who played guy callaway is ALSO Shorty Larson! ("sorry shorty")
