I also think that if The Ox-Bow Incident had actually been filmed on location, say at a real oxbow, it would have gotten another point from me. Afro The studio sets except for the town set are a minus.

Sometimes a studio set is great for a film. A example is " The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. " I liked the close quarters feeling of some of the scenes.  It enhanced the tension between Wayne's and Marvin's characters.   I felt it did the same in The Oxbow Incident, but i agree that it could've been even better with on location filming.
