The greatest explosion i've ever seen was in duck you sucker. Im talkin about the blowup of the bridge, it was just  stunning with the great morricone score. I hate thoose fake computeranimated explosions in the action flicks nowadays, the explosion of the bridge was just perfect, don't u agree

Is is indeed a GREAT shot. But, IMO, the greatest explosion ever, is the BRIDGE sequence in THE WILD BUNCH. Horses, men n' rafters all blown to hell. Stunning!

The music in that scene is great, but look again your dvd and continue hearing the melody 3 or 4 more minutes, when Sean and Juan arrive at the caves and Juan finds all his sons dead.... That Morricone track is called "Dead sons". I have now more than 150 Morricone cds, and from all those cds "Dead Sons" is my favourite Morricone track.

What makes the blow up so good DYS is the music, it's SO NICE!!!!! You know the piano playing in the background, it's compelling

Yeah. The explosion of a bridge is the best possible way to make a movie great, I’ve always thought that. I’ve never seen a film with a bridge exploding that wasn’t just marvellous.

why has nobody mentioned the OTHER great explosion in Fistful Of Dynamite

you know what im talking about, at the end...

when sean unleashes his most powerful explosive concoction and goes up with a bang, as he promiced at the beggining.

the intensity and colour of the great white fireball is unparralleled in any other western.

(ive also seen people saying Leone should have made it more obvious sean blew himself up - this is rubbish it was blatently obvious even first time round, infact i guessed he was going to as soon as he got that bottle out, i didnt think it was alcohol for a second!)

incredible, plays while we watch the final explosion, far more moving for me than even the final flashback!!


which brings me onto the point of why im posting here:

what on earth is the NAME of the ending theme which is (or so ive read) only in the english version.  the "sad but determined" music which plays during the final fireball.

in my opinion this tune is far superior to anything else in the entire movie or any other of Leone's work, and i DONT even know for certain that it IS LEONE'S WORK??

if it is only in later versions then theres all the chance its not, which might explain why i have been unable to find this music after hours of searching for it.


ive looked through the Fistful of Dynamite music CD and no luck, for some insane reason it seems they decided to leave out the very best music theme in the movie

ive looked through sergio leone's related work, but alas have not found it there either, again this could be because this was the one tune he DIDNT make

The only music at the end of the English-language version I've seen is the complete Gui la Testa theme. Are you saying that in other versions (which, the Italian?) there is different music here, or no music?

That’s definitely one great explosion. But for me the one with the bridge in Giu la testa is the ultimate one.

theres no comparison theres just none whatsoever

its just so wrong comparing explosions involving the minimum amount of dynamite required to collapse a bridge (be it in multiple places at once) with a totally excessive overkill quantity of dynamite simply stacked together - with the sole aim of blowing up nothing but itself, and THEN managing to get enough to create a very bright fireball... now thats a serious amount of concentrated TNT right there!

i really really hope my memory isnt faulty here, i dont actually have FoD to check any facts, neither do i have any music CDs i just have the websites which give brief listening clips of a few of the songs; but ive seen the movie twice on BBC.  somewhere during the movie there is a sad but hopeful/determined theme which goes something like:

you could also describe it as a dramatic ball room piano peice, although theres no way it would be possible to dance to it, its a slow motion dying/death music at its core.

now there is a chance it may be the "deadson" ive seen talked about

it may be the tune played during either one of the flashbacks even

it could even be when that bloody bridge blew up

all i know is, this tune is from FoD and im not leaving a stone unturned until i find its name
