For Nobody: This thread details the release of the best looking version of Nobody released by Paramount Home Entertainment in Germany. This can be ordered from www.amazon.de

And it can be bought in one of two ways.

1. The 2 Disc SE release: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009RNL5U/qid=1125836336/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_2/028-3796350-9485337

2. The boxset also containg Nobody is the Greatest: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009U522M/qid=1125836336/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/028-3796350-9485337

According to the shipping info for Amazon.de http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/505554/ref=ed_ec_hp_ct_7_4/028-3796350-9485337 that they do ship to the US but it may be a little expensive.

re-Dynamite it should be warned that the British Censors have seemed fit to cut out 6 seconds of footage detailing horse falls. If you wish to have a complete version without these ommisions you may want to wait until Australia release their R4 version later this year or might want to buy it from a European country.

I hope this helps.

You proberbly got feedback on condition of the Paramount Genius already. The sections you mentioned and posted are missing. The ending being the biggest dissapointment. But it does look in better condition (colour balance etc) than the UK R2 version.
I took those screenshots from the German cinefacts board where they were posted. There has also been independent confirmation by people from different countries about having seen the missing scenes in theatres when the movie was released in Europe. It'll be interesting to see how Paramount deals with this issue. But to be honest, I don't expect a corrected full-length release, given the cost cutting measures Paramount reportedly undertook.

The decision whether a corrected full-length release will be made available or not is entirely Paramount's. Tongue

I hadn't read any of this untill tonight, as I am not at all interested in this not very good film.

All I can say is good luck with the rest of it, and I'll wander off shaking my head. If I wanted to read absurd, unreasonable vitriol like this I'll waste my time at the imdb.com forums, or at some teen dominated horror film board. Or at some German DVD forum. From "this is great" and "welcome welcome" to "BETRAYAL!!" in the space of a couple of pages...

Thank goodness none of the other threads on this board as so absurdly petty. It a rare day when I feel sorry for a film industry insider, but this was one.

Didn't notice this being mentioned here earlier so... here it goes. Tongue

The thing is... the ending of "Nobody's the greatest" in the UK disc is actually longer than in the recent disc by Paramount. The difference is about 5 seconds or so, but easily noticeable.

The Paramount disc ends right after Bill says "the son of a bitch had it all figured out" and rides out of the picture with Lucy and the men.
The UK disc has a about 5 second clip of a bird flying after this.

What's wierd though is that the sounds of the bird and some riding sounds as well can be heard over the credits in the Paramount disc. So I suppose these are supposed to be in the missing scene. No idea why they are playing like they are though.

Torsten mentioned something about recent british version... is this reference to the one on the UK DVD? If so, I guess nobody ever checked and compared the two (or didn't care), before going forward with the release. :p

The UK disc btw is also missing something (sexual joke) which is present on the Paramount disc.

Shh, quiet or you'll be hanged for disturbing the peace in happy lala-land. Wink

Sundance, does the UK disc include the scene after the arrow-kill at the beginning where the dead cowboy drops to the floor? What is missing from the Paramount version are two shots: one showing the dead man bumping on the floor and lying there, and a second showing the fat guy on the chair looking down on him with a mean face.

The full end should contain at least a pan across Monument Valley and a shot of Terence Hill sitting on top of the mountain watching the bird fly. Can you see Terence Hill during those 5 extra seconds on the UK disc?

Couldn't check it right now, but if I remember correctly, the arrow killing scene at the beginning is the same in the UK and Paramount discs. The guy eating and sitting at the chair drops his food to the pan the guy who was shot with arrows is holding and then the laughter comes and the scene cuts off.

The end with the bird shows only the bird and the sky, nothing else. But based on the sounds on the soundtrack of the Paramount disc, it would seem the camera probably is then supposed to move on to show Bill and the others riding away (the image shown on some page here, I think uploaded by you Smiley ) and then would proceed to show Terence on top of the hill (the other picture somewhere here).

Still wondering how they can include the soundtrack of the missing scene but not the scene itself. :p

The Paramount disc is also sadly cropped. Seems to be cropped from the bottom through the whole film
(top image from UK disc, bottom from Paramount)
http://www.sundances.net/spaghetti/screenshots/compare1.jpg

and then some parts of the film (maybe most of the time, but I haven't checked all the scenes) are cropped on all sides

http://www.sundances.net/spaghetti/screenshots/compare2.jpg

But I can't say which one of them has been stretched or squeezed. Cheesy

Question:
Is the TLEfilm/Paramount version of Nobody dubbed in English and German or is it in Italian with English or German subtitles?

German Audio n Subs, English Audio n Subs.

You get one of those Paramount blue lang menus on boot up. You know the ones. But instead of usual screen full of different languges its just English & German. Picking one defines the menu lang set-up and movie set-up e.g. English audio no subs.
But you need to turn the english subs on for the extras. Its basicly the same a OUATITW DVD the menus look and work in the same way.

Just watched my copy of the Paramount / TLEfilms version of "Nobody" on the weekend.
The TLE restoration is simply amazing, perfect in my humble opinion!

If you're a fan of this film, it should be a blind buy. The extra DVD showing all of Nobody's previous sub standard incarnations is pretty interesting as well.

For anyone nervous about trying the purchase through Amazon.de (I live in Australia and don't read German) it's easy. The web site functions and looks exactly the same as the US site. Through some guess work based on my previous purchases on Amazon.com I was able to bumble my way through easily enough. Delivery was surprising quick too.
