Just saw this flick tonight, it was a hoot, definitely check it out when it gets to your neck of the woods, a bit over the top but a lot of fun. Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Rutger Hauer, Benicio Del Torro, Jamie King, Powers Booth, Elija Wood, Directed by Frank Miller Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino, a great film noir/hardboiled flick.

Yeah, CJ, I concur. Saw it last weekend and enjoyed it a lot. Very funny, and visually one of the most interesting films I've seen in a loooong time. You will believe that a comic book can move!

Good just to see Powers Booth in films. A man criminally left behind in the 80s. Havn't got round to seeing this yet but I know Frank Miller's Sin City quite well.
Elijah Wood plays the rather unpleasent assassin Kevin from the first novel. Now theres a man not looking to be typecasted.
Bringing a whole new meaning to the term
stumpy
. Nothing to do with fruity little people in velvet waist coats i can tell you
The Yellow B&$!@*d looks quite good too from the trailers.
Mention this before.. But I really hope

Miller's Spartan 'Batte of Hot Gates' story gets adapted after this.
It would look amazing if its treated in the same style. It be a good antidote to all these soggy epics of recent times. Good 2 hour or under movie would hit the spot.

Mikey Rourke, is he wearing some kind of mask? I remember reading that his face got all messed up from boxing, but nobody can look that screwd up, whats the word there?

Mickey Rourke was made up to look like Marv. If you want to see how he looks now check out "Man on Fire."

hola amigos - now then, SIN CITY - not sure if this has been a topic before; here in the UK we won't get this movie until JUNE! I was just wondering if any of you Yankee Gringos have seen it and what do you think? Robert Rodriguez is a true master and I've always enjoyed his work. I've read some positive reviews but I'd like to read your views. I got the 'making of' book today (very nice!) and should be getting the soundtrack soon.

(many thanks to SMOKER for the re-direct to this topic)
well amigos, it's good to see that there are some Frank Miller fans here also. I think an adaptation of 300 and / or RONIN would be very interesting. anyhoo, like I said, here in ol' Blighty, we must wait til June for SIN CITY. oh by the way, in the superb 'Making of Sin City' book, we see some pics of Mickey Rourke having the 'Marv' make-up applied to his face.

Guys and Gals, is it as good as the Kill Bill movies? I haven't been to the cinema for ages (I hate the schmuck that Hollywood generally delivers) but quite fancy this one.

Yep as usual we in the UK have to wait for everything even if does have Clive Owen in it !
However the net has become the great equalizer and I downloaded a copy a while ago. I thought it was quality,
the whole look of the film was better than most recent films alone, the story was an added bonus.
Ive read some of Millers earlier Daredevil stuff but new nothing about these stories and was well impressed.
Way better than Kill Bill.

It's a lot better than Kill Bill. Mickey Rourke is awesome. Unfortunately, it's not all about his character, Marv. Did I mention that Mickey Rourke is awesome? He's FREAKING AWESOME. It's also nice to see Rutger Hauer on the big screen. Elijah Wood has a very interesting role, and Clive Owen is pretty good. Mickey Rourke is awesome.
That said, I think Kill Bill is bloated and way overrated.
