Marlowe is probably more of a familiar name than the other three and probably with more of a romantic slant to satisfy the female audience. But Altman proved that the character can easily  adapt to  a contemporary ambience. No, I think what we need is a more anarchist version of Mike Hammer, with no concession to romanticism and PC (namely, no Velda). Those three characters you name are still in the Marlowe's mould. Without Chandler's stylistic gifts.

Oh, come on. I do not mean resuscitate a character. I mean to use it like it has never been done before, adapting it to the new times and without the limits of censorship.

They tried it badly with Armand Assante. The window of opportunity was 1970-80-90s now too much PC to contend with for films. Maybe a mini series.
