Here's all the info:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Noir-Archive-Volume-1-1944-1954-Blu-ray/226593/

711 Ocean Drive (1950) is a hidden gem and Escape in the Fog (1945) only has appeal to Boetticher completionists.

The Black Book aka Reign of Terror (1949) is directed by Anthony Mann, so that's great that another prime era Mann movie is released on bluray.

Gonna check out 711 Ocean Drive.

The Equalizer 2 (2018)  I'm a big fan of the original Equalizer film starring Denzel Washington so I have been waiting for this for a while. Its pretty good.  The plot isn't that good but the action and suspense pretty much makes up for it. The director, Antoine Fuqua, has been pegged to direct the Scarface remake that Universal has had in development for a long time.  Apparently one of the major hangups is Fuqua wants Denzel to play Scarface but he is hesitant to do so.  Anyway, I like these types of films.  I have seen John Wick. Great film. Both The Equalizer and John Wick are similar. I have got to see John Wick 2.  I haven't seen any of the " Taken" films and will check them out too.  My bad. I rank The Equalizer 2 as a 8...

Turns out TCM/Noir Alley eventually posts all of Muller's intros/outros here http://noiralley.tcm.com/video-archive

But they aren't posted immediately – the most recent one is from Nov. 25 (The Killing).

And it only goes as far back as September 23 (The Stranger). I'm not sure if they just started posting these recently, or if they always posted them but remove them after a few months.

I think I'll keep recording them and posting them myself – my recordings are not great quality and I don't post them immediately – but once they're there, they're there forever  :)

Thank you! (Although "forever" should be in quotes, of course). We don't really care about the quality, since the content is the important point. Just do what you've been doing, which has been a great service (at least to me).

Me too, I've been working a lot of OT every weekend and haven't been able to watch Noir Alley since Thanksgiving.

According the bluray.com forums, Kino is going to release The Silent Partner (1978) on bluray [Region A]  at some point this year.

I know it's neo-noir but the movie doesn't have a thread so I figured this is the best place to post this news.

Edit: They announced it on FB:

This is good news. I haven't seen it in a mighty long time, but I remember it being one of the better neo-noirs out there.

This weekend, TCM will not have the usual Noir Alley showing (Saturday night at midnight ET, repeating Sunday 10 a.m. ET). Instead, Eddie Muller will be presenting two! films on Sunday night: Act of Violence at 8 p.m. and In a Lonely Place (his all-time favorite film) at 10 p.m.

Then, Noir Alley will be off until March 9, due to TCM's 31 Days of Oscar programming.

TCM has these special videos only for members of its fan club, called TCM Backlot. One of these is an ongoing series of films in which Backlot members can ask Eddie Muller questions. These videos can only be viewed by Backlot members. I am not a member, but it looks like they occasionally make a few videos available to the public. Here is one (not sure how long it will be available)

https://www.tcmbacklot.com/noir-alley-q-a-7?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral

A few bits from this six-and-a-half-minute video:

Q: Name your favorite classic non-noir movie:
Eddie says the greatest filmgoing experience he ever had was watching Abel Gance's Napoleon with a full symphony. He named two others: Buster Keaton's The General and Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch. (The Wild Bunch?! Et tu, Eddie?  :'( )

Q: What's the weirdest noir of all time? He answered that from the classic noir era, "I'm going to say, without hesitation, that it's The Chase (1946)." He says it is "like a David Lynch movie made in the 1940's."

Yeah, all his past comments have been indirect. Great to see his feelings confirmed!

Eddie needs to start crediting me with the stuff he steals:
Quote
Watching this again on the new Kino BD I suddenly realized: this is the Mulholland Dr. of the 1940s.

Noir Alley (which had been on vacation during TCM's 31 Days of Oscar) is returning this Saturday night, with D.O.A.

More good news: Eddie will be hosting TCM's regular programming on Wednesday nights for the next three months https://twitter.com/EddieMuller/status/1103525689762824194

His non-Noir Alley intros/outros (even when for films nor) are not as long as his Noir Alley ones, but he is still far better than those other three clowns who "replaced" Robert Osborne (whose second death-anniversary, btw, was yesterday).

If only he could be in charge of the programming.
