The Lineup is a set seller for me, great movie and great late 50s locations. The Crimson Kimono is not one of Fuller's better movies but I'd give it another shot.

Speaking of blurays and Don Siegel, Kino is going to release Charley Varrick at some point. I just learned this today, it was announced last summer. Very, very late to that party.

The UK blu-ray has a good but not stellar transfer, perhaps Kino will use a different one and that's why it's taken longer? Excellent movie.

Surprising to find The Crimson Kimono on this upcoming set, Twilight Time did a US blu-ray of it not that long ago. Perhaps the rights have lapsed already.

It's not noir, but Eddie Muller will be presenting the Paul Newman"Star of the Month" films every Wednesday night this May on TCM.

Nightfall (1957) is getting a region free release from Arrow. There haven't been any reviews as far as I know.

It's one of my favorite late era noirs, I hope the transfer is legit.

I thought the DVD was fine and don't see any reason to upgrade.

I bought the Columbia Noir Classic II set (Nightfall, Pushover, etc) for cheap several years back, never opened it and now it's worth decent money sealed. I'm either going to sell it or just not open it since it's an outdated format.

I also may be in the minority on Nightfall. I love the movie and would love to watch those outdoor scenes etc in HD.

I received the Arrow Nightfall blu-ray this weekend. I've not yet had a chance to check the picture quality, but looking forward to giving it a spin and checking those snowy mountain scenes, as well as Anne Bancroft, in HD. It's not a favorite noir of mine, but it's pretty damn good.

This weekend's TCM Noir Alley selection is one of the greats, The Asphalt Jungle. The following weekend is Nora Prentiss.

Noir Alley generally plays every Saturday night at midnight, repeating Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern Time).

Two little scheduling changes for the next couple of weekends: This weekend, the Saturday night showing will be at 12:45 a.m.; the Sunday morning showing is in its regular slot at 10:00 a.m. Next weekend, the Saturday night showing will be in its regular slot at midnight, but there will be no Sunday morning showing, as TCM will be having a marathon of Doris Day movies that day. (Someone wrote on Twitter," It's a shame LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME wasn't selected to do double duty for @NoirAlley and the Doris Day tribute," but Eddie Muller replied, "It is showing that day. But it would have been unfair to West Coasters to put one of Day’s best films on at 7 am PST.")

So, remember the schedule changes when setting your DVR's. And if you don't, of course, I (eventually) post all of Eddie's intros/outros anyway  :)
